Where is the Bishop when you need him? Years ago, Bishop T.D. Jakes ministered a series of sermons (that later turned into a conference) entitled, “Woman, Thou Art Loosed”. It was a freeing experience for women worldwide. In fact, he released a novel with the same name and later released a film. Needless to say, a lot of women were loosed in the process. Based on a passage found in Luke 13, Jakes used it to address various issues women face, including domestic violence and self-esteem.
I had someone ask a question about my “women and discretion” blog entry. “Brother John, What other areas do you think women should exercise discretion in?” Although I only mentioned discretion with respect to relationships, I believe that discretion needs to be operated in other areas of women’s lives. One such area is discretion in dress. I’m not archaic enough nor am I conservative enough to believe that women need to dress in drab and unappealing clothing.
