The previous clutter devotional discussed the idea of clutter in our lives. Today we want to give you practical steps to take to clean out the clutter.
Four Ways To Clean The Clutter:
1. Downsize it
Do you reallly need that prom dress you’ll never fit into? Do you really need to be involved with that guy who will never fit in your life plan? To downsize requires you to improvise, but in the end you know you will not have compromised.
2. Outsource it
Sometimes the clutter can get so overwhelming that you have to outsource the job to someone better equipped to deal with it. To borrow from Apple’s successful “buy an app” ad campaign…there’s a God for that.
3. Upgrade it
Old and vintage only matters in the world of antique dealers who enjoy items collecting dust. Forget the former things…God wants to equip you with something new, but it requires you to upgrade (Isa. 43:18).
4. Donate it
Two awesome things about donations. First, most donation centers pick up the items, so you don’t have to worry about lugging them around. Second, you get a tax write off. Cast your cares on God, He’ll let you write them off (1 Pet 5:7).
