I just read that Herman Cain wants to be Secretary of Defense. Cain seems to think he’s the best person for this job. I’m not one to get too involved in politics, but not so sure about his aspirations here. I know he’s a Morehouse alum, but the qualifications just aren’t there.
He said the same in an interview with Barbara Walters last month (hypothetically) (also check out his rendition of “He Looked Beyond My Faults” at the end of the interview):
Barbara Walters: What cabinet position would you like?
Herman Cain: Department of Defense.
Barbara Walters: What!?!?!?!?
Barbara Walters: “It would be important to be familiar with the various countries around the world, and you’ve had some difficulty with that, Mr. Cain.”
Herman Cain: “Yes, but I have been doing my homework ever since that difficulty.”
Why not think about Secretary of Treasury, since he pushed the 9-9-9 plan during his campaign? This Secretary of Defense thing just doesn’t sit well with me. Our “defense” strategy needs major help, but Cain isn’t the man for the job. What do you guys think?
